What is Invisalign?

Invisalign Ryde is one of the world’s most popular methods of teeth straightening.

Invisalign can help address mild or moderate misalignment issues of the teeth to help you achieve a neatly aligned smile that is aesthetically pleasing and also prevents dental complications later on in life.

Invisalign Ryde uses the latest in digital dental technology to help you achieve a smile that you can be proud of. You need to speak to our dentist at Spa Dental Ryde and undergo a thorough examination of your teeth and gums as well as a smile assessment to find out which form of teeth straightening is necessary for you. If you have complex orthodontic needs then our dentist will decide whether or not Invisalign Ryde will be able to address these issues and if not they will suggest alternative options for you that will be more successful at straightening your teeth.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign braces are clear thermoplastic aligners. They work as a series and each aligner in the series has to be worn for two weeks at a time until you can move onto the next aligner. The aligners are digitally designed and printed to fit your mouth accurately, with precision

They apply pressure to your teeth and move them by 0.25mm per aligner and then you will find that the aligner may become too loose and it will stop working, so you have to move onto the next aligner in the series. This process can be carried out in the comfort of your own home, although most patients like some professional help and will visit our dentist at least once every couple of months to make sure that the process is coming along successfully.

The entire process itself can take between 6 and 12 months and this depends on how crooked or wonky your teeth are to begin with. It is also important that you maintain a good dental hygiene routine whilst straightening your teeth with Invisalign. This is to prevent the build up of plaque and tartar in your mouth. If there is any plaque or tartar then this needs to be removed at our practice to make sure that your teeth remain healthy throughout the process.
