Achieve a beautiful smile with Invisalign

Teeth straightening can either be carried out with fixed braces or removable braces depending on your dental requirements as well as your preferences. Complicated orthodontic issues can be addressed to create neatly aligned smiles that are attractive to look at and promote healthy teeth and gums. For complicated orthodontic issues your dentist will normally recommend fixed braces, whereas for mild or moderate orthodontic issues your dentist may offer removable braces. These differ in other ways. Fixed braces are often visible but there are different types of braces that offer more discretion. Removable braces such as Invisalign are clear thermoplastic aligners which are almost invisible in the mouth and therefore offer you full discretion while straightening your teeth. They are both as efficient as each other, although fixed braces do take longer as they are designed to tackle more complex orthodontic issues.

With Invisalign Ryde you can achieve a beautiful smile without anyone noticing that you are undergoing dental treatment, unless of course you wish to tell them! Invisalign Ryde can be carried out in the comfort of your own home and with regular visits to our dental practice you can make sure that the process is coming along successfully. Speak to our dentist at Spa Dental Ryde today and find out more about Invisalign Ryde and how it can help straighten your teeth.

How does Invisalign work?

To begin with, you will need to undergo a three dimensional scan of your mouth, as well as a thorough examination of your teeth and gums to make sure that there are no underlying issues affecting your dentition. The scan will create a digital image of your mouth and this will be manipulated to show you how Invisalign can change the position of your teeth. This scan is used to design the aligners that will move your teeth into their desired positions. Each aligner can move your teeth by approximately 0.25 mm and this takes between 10 days up to 2 weeks, after which you will move onto the next aligner in the series. In this way the treatment takes approximately 6 to 12 months and this depends on how crooked or uneven your teeth are to begin with.

The aligners are highly convenient in that they can be removed when necessary during the day, although the protocol suggests that they are in your mouth for a minimum of 20 hours. The more you wear your aligners the better the results you will achieve, whilst poor compliance will mean that the overall treatment takes longer. They are also easy to clean and can be brushed with an ordinary toothbrush and toothpaste and rinsed with warm water before being placed back in your mouth. They allow you to maintain a good dental hygiene routine as well.

By straightening your teeth you can improve the appearance of your smile, but you can also have a significant positive impact on your dental health. So without delay speak to our team at Spa Dental Ryde and book an appointment today to find out more about the options that are available for you.
